The City of Holland receives an annual allocation of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). These funds are intended to help develop viable urban communities that offer decent, affordable housing, a suitable living environment, and expanded economic opportunities.
The Home Repair Program provides financial assistance with needed home repairs to eligible low- to moderate-income homeowners. The amount of assistance is determined by the scope or type of project and the amount of household income.
In 2013 the City of Holland took the proactive step of combining the Community Development Committee, the Ourstreet Committee and the Neighborhood Advisory Committee into one new committee, called the Neighborhood Improvement Committee.
