Wednesday, August 5, 2020

Order No.  2020-T-000010               Effective Date June 15 – Sept. 1, 2020

(when official traffic control signs or devices conforming to this order are erected.)

In accordance with Section 18-16 of the Holland City Code, the following traffic regulations are issued:

Effective beginning Monday, June 15, 2020, 16th Street will be closed to all through traffic between Kollen Park Drive and River Avenue.  This closure will be in place as construction work begins in this area.

08-04-2020 UPDATE -
Effective beginning Wednesday, August 5, 2020, 16th Street will be closed to traffic between Pine and Columbia Avenues.  This closure is required as the work progresses into Phase 2.  This section will remain closed until approximately 09-01-2020.

Please note that intersections will remain open for north/south traffic at Pine, River, Central & Columbia.  There will be short intersection closures when the road is being repaved.

This will cause travel delays as commuters will have to follow the posted detour on 17th Street or choose another east/west roadway for their travels.

The complete construction zone is Kollen Park Drive all the way east to Lane Avenue.

Work will be done in Three (3) phases as follows –

Phase 1 – Kollen Park Dr – River Ave; June 15 – mid-July

Phase 2 – River Ave – Lincoln Ave; mid-July – September

Phase 3 – Lincoln Ave – Lane Ave; September – late October

This Traffic Control Work Order will be updated as it moves through the 3 phases of work.

Special Instructions –
The Contractor (Kamminga & Roodvoets, Inc (K & R)) will setup and maintain all barricades, signs and warning devices as deemed necessary to assure public safety.  Contractor must follow guidelines for road closures or lane closures as set forth in the Michigan Manual of Uniform Traffic Devices.
