16th St Construction Update

Tuesday, August 18, 2020

CITY OF HOLLAND

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC CONTROL ORDER

Order No.  2020-T-000010               Effective Date August 18 – Sept. 1, 2020

(when official traffic control signs or devices conforming to this order are erected.)

In accordance with Section 18-16 of the Holland City Code, the following traffic regulations are issued:

08-14-20 Update –

On Tuesday, August 18, 2020, the intersection of River & 16th St. will be reduced to 1-lane of traffic for southbound, and 1 lane of traffic for northbound.  This will cause travel delays for northbound River Avenue.

On Friday, August 21, 2020, the intersection of River & 16th St. will be totally closed for southbound traffic to allow for underground work.  This will cause travel delays as southbound motorists will be required to follow the posted detour.  At least one lane of northbound traffic will remain open.

All work within the intersection should be completed by Sept. 1, 2020.

The complete construction zone is Kollen Park Drive all the way east to Lane Avenue.

Work will be done in Three (3) phases as follows –

Phase 1 – Kollen Park Dr – River Ave; June 15 – mid-July

Phase 2 – River Ave – Lincoln Ave; mid-July – September

Phase 3 – Lincoln Ave – Lane Ave; September – late October

This Traffic Control Work Order will be updated as it moves through the 3 phases of work.

Special Instructions –

The Contractor (Kamminga & Roodvoets, Inc (K & R)) will setup and maintain all barricades, signs and warning devices as deemed necessary to assure public safety.  Contractor must follow guidelines for road closures or lane closures as set forth in the Michigan Manual of Uniform Traffic Devices.
