Today at about 1235 p.m., Firefighters and Police Officer of the Holland Department of Public Safety, along with AMR responded to a report of a subject who was injured after being thrown off the hood of a car at the Wendy’s Restaurant, located at 816 E 16th St. in Holland City.

The initial investigation indicates that a 45 year-old man and a 44 year-old female were in an argument while inside a ’09 Dodge Charger in the Wendy’s parking lot. During the course of the argument the male subject exited the vehicle and the female locked the doors. The female driver attempted to drive out of the parking lot to leave when the male subject jumped onto the hood. The female turned left out of the parking lot onto the private roadway between Wendy’s and the Fifth Third Bank. While making the turn the male subject was thrown from the vehicle and struck his head on the pavement.

The male subject was transported to Zeeland Hospital with serious injuries. The female was not injured.

The individuals involved are married and from Grand Haven.

The incident remains under investigation.
