[ARCHIVED] Defendant found guilty of Home Invasion and CSC

***UPDATE January 23, 2025***

The trial in this matter began in the 20th Circuit Court on Tuesday. This afternoon, the jury in the case found the defendant, Dominique Asher Hawking, guilty of Criminal Sexual Conduct 1st degree, Home Invasion 1st degree and Resist and Obstruct and Officer. Sentencing is scheduled for March 24.

The suspect in this case, Dominique Asher Hawkins, was arraigned in the 58th District Court on Criminal Sexual Conduct 2nd degree, Home Invasion 1st Degree and Resisting and Obstructing an Officer. Bond was set at $250,000 cash or surety.

This morning, April 16 2024 at about 2:20 a.m. a Holland resident called 911 as she heard a subject in her home, located on West 24th near Michigan Ave.  Officers responded and began checking around the house. At one point an officer shined a light into the home and saw a male subject.  The subject quickly exited the home on the opposite side, where another officer was at.  The suspect was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit.

The victim reported that the suspect, who she did not know, had started to sexually assault her. He was lodged on multiple charges. His name is being withheld pending arraignment.
