We’ve received a few inquires regarding the status of this case. A warrant was recently issued for Eric Joseph Cody, a 39 year old from Grand Rapids, for a single count of Burglary – Forced Entry. Detectives have been attempting to locate Mr. Cody but have not been unsuccessful.
At this time, we are requesting assistance from the public in locating him. Holland Detectives were able to identify a possible suspect in this case and from that located a vehicle matching the vehicle observed in the surveillance footage on the date of the burglary. A search warrant was obtained for the vehicle and during the search many of the stolen cards from the Super Highway store burglary were located. Holland detectives are continuing to investigate and plan to submit the report to the Ottawa County Prosecutor’s Office requesting charges for the suspect in the near future.

This past Sunday, November 10 2024 at about 9:50 a.m., Officers of the Holland Department of Public Safety responded to the Super Hideaway Gaming store on S. Washington Ave. for a report of a broken out window on the front door. Arriving officers determined the store had been broken into sometime during the night and the suspect(s) stole trading cards from the store. The owner was who came out and confirmed merchandise was stolen from the store.
The case was assigned to detectives who are actively investigating the break in. Video cameras from a nearby store in the same plaza captured video of the suspect vehicle.
Media inquiries included requests regarding a connection to other break in’s at similar stores in West Michigan. At this point it is unknown if it is the same suspect or group of suspects.
