Katie Austin Lee of Holland was arraigned today in the 58th District Court in Holland on a single count of Open Murder and one count of Resisting and Obstructing an Officers. Bond has been denied.
A date has not yet been set for a probable cause hearing.
The victim in this case is identified as Lee's 17 year old son, Austin Dean Pikaart.

Detectives have been actively working on this case throughout the day. Based on the results of the investigation and the autopsy, this incident has been determined to be a Homicide.
Detectives worked with the Ottawa County Prosecutor's Office, who have authorized a warrant for Open Murder as well as a Resisting and Obstructing and Officer.
The suspect and victims names will be released after arraignment.

This morning, at about 4:15 a.m., HDPS officers responded to an apartment in the Bay Pointe Apartment Complex, 791 E 16th St., on a report of a domestic incident. Officers went to the apartment where they were immediately confronted by a female subject who was holding a knife. Officers gave multiple verbal commands to her and eventually deployed a Taser. The Taser deployment was successful and the 39 year old female was taken into custody.
Officers entered the apartment and located the body of a 17-year-old male who was deceased. Due to the suspicious nature of the incident, multiple detectives were called in and are actively investigating. An autopsy will be conducted in the near future.
The individuals are mother and son who resided together in the apartment. Names are being withheld at this time for family notification and the on-going investigation.
No further information will be released at this time. More details will be put out once more information is available and detectives receive the results of the autopsy.
