[ARCHIVED] Long Grass & Weed Enforcement

The Long Grass & Weed Ordinance is enforced from April to November of each year.  Properties with grass, weeds, or unmaintained yard areas more than 8 inches in height are in violation of the ordinance and will receive a notice posted at the property. Vacant lots that are in violation will receive a notice in the mail. Once notice is given, the owner or occupant has 48 hours to mow their grass.  If the yard is not mowed in accordance with the posted notice, the City’s contractor will mow the lawn, and the homeowner will be billed. Property owners are responsible for all properties they own, including rental properties.  Thank you for helping the City of Holland maintain attractive and welcoming neighborhoods!
