Professionals and volunteers who work in public service are invited to attend a training on the City of Holland’s Crisis Response Plan on either Monday, March 23 from 3-5 pm or Monday, March 30 from 3-5 pm. Both trainings will be held at City Hall. Registration is at Eventbrite.com.
“The City’s Crisis Response Plan (CRP) is a community strategy to prepare for, respond to, mitigate, and restore community balance should the community be faced with a hate crime, racial or bias incident, or perception of racial or bias incident,” said Esther Fifelski, manager of the City’s Human Relations Department. “A recent update of our database revealed a 30% turnover in contact personnel among our community partners and we want to make sure everyone who is involved in public service is up to speed on the Crisis Response Plan.”
The training will also focus on immigration law and understanding victim trauma. Presenters include Sara Yore-Van Oosterhout from Lighthouse Immigrant Advocates and Sara A. Van Tongeren, Clinical Social Worker/Therapist.
