REF: Holland’s National Night Out 2020 CANCELLED
Tuesday, August 4 2020 was originally scheduled to be Holland’s 29th annual National Night Out event at Kollen Park. The National Night Out even has been a long-standing tradition in Holland to promote Police/Community relations. Citizens and neighbors have been encouraged to get to know their local police officers and fire fighters as well as their neighbors and other community leaders. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was postponed until October 6.
However, due to the unknown potential impact of COVID 19, we have decided to cancel this year’s event upon the recommendation from the Ottawa County Health Department as well as for the safety of the participants and the overall community.
We are saddened to have to make this decision but will look forward to National Night Out 2021 to be able to see everyone again. In the meantime, we will continue to find ways to have positive interactions with community members through the “Operation Polar Patrol”, “Shop with a Cop” and the many other ways we are able to interact with much smaller groups where it is feasible to maintain social distancing.
