The Holland Department of Public Safety is pleased to announce Reserve Sgt. Dan Lubbers as the Reserve Officer of the Year. Chief Messer made the announcement during a reserve unit virtual meeting this week.
Reserve Sergeant Lubbers was nominated for this prestigious award by his peers. Some of the reasons cited for him being nominated included that he “has a great can-do attitude and is willing to do whatever it takes to help others” as well as that he “will always step up when asked to perform extra duties”. Also noted was the fact that Dan “is well respected not only amongst the reserve ranks but the entire department.”.
Reserve Sergeant Lubbers has been with the department since 2007. A graduate of Holland High School, he is self-employed and lives in Holland with his wife and three children.
The Holland Department of Public Safety is grateful for the dedication displayed over the years by Sgt Lubbers and he is to be commended for receiving this award.
