[ARCHIVED] Holland Firefighters Douse Kitchen Fire

At 7:55 PM Holland Department of Public Safety Fire Services were dispatched to a reported house fire in the 600 block of Central Avenue. The resident had returned home and found smoke in the home. The first engine was on scene within four and a half minutes and reported visible smoke and a working fire. The crew quickly made entry, located a fire in the kitchen, and extinguished it. A cat was also rescued from the home. 

Fire Crews operated on scene until at approximately 10:30 PM. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Holland Fire Marshal. There were no reported injuries. 

Assistance was provided on scene by Holland Department of Public Safety Police Services, Holland BPW, Semco, and American Medical Response. Holland firefighters remind everyone to have working smoke alarms in appropriate locations throughout their homes.
