[ARCHIVED] Police Investigating Homicide in Holland

REF:       Homicide Investigation in Holland

Last night at approximately 10:20 p.m. officers of the Holland DPS responded to the area of College Ave., between 16th and 17th St., for a report of a shooting. Arriving officers located 2 victims who both had gun shot wounds.  

The victims had been riding bicycles on College Ave. when the suspect began firing at them. One of the victims, a 19-year-old Holland man was transported to Holland Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The second victim, an 18-year-old man also from Holland was transported to Holland Hospital and later transferred to Spectrum Health Butterworth in Grand Rapids where he is listed in critical condition.

Witnesses at the scene describe the suspect at a black male, approximately 20 years old with a thin build.

Detectives have been working through the night following up on several leads.

The investigation continues to be an on-going active investigation.
