[ARCHIVED] No Injuries Reported in Afternoon Fire at 304 West 17th Street

Today, at 3:27 PM the Holland Fire Department was dispatched to a fire in a residence 304 West 17th. The first arriving unit advised that there was a working fire in the kitchen with heavy fire present with smoke throughout the structure. Shortly after arrival, fire crews made entry to the residence to confirm that all occupants were out and extinguish the fire in the kitchen area. The fire was brought under control quickly however it extended to the exterior of the back of the structure. Heavy smoke was found throughout the first and second floors.

Damage estimates and the cause of the fire are not available at this time. The fire is being investigated by the department's Fire Marshal. There were no injuries to occupants or responding personnel and the Holland Police Department was able to identify that all occupants were accounted for early into the incident.

Other agencies providing assistance for this incident included the HDPS Victims Services Unit and American Medical Response.
