This morning, shortly after 12:30 a.m., officers and firefighters of the Holland DPS were dispatched to the area of 26th and Columbia for a report single motor vehicle crash. Initial responders located a 2019 Buick Enclave crashed into a tree in the front yard of a residence. The vehicle was occupied only by the driver. Medical assistance was provided but he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Initial investigation indicates that the Enclave had been east bound on 26th from State St, drifted off the roadway on the north side of 26th, drove through several front yards before crashing into a tree. Preliminary indication is the driver likely suffered a medical event while driving which led to the crash.
The driver is identified as 61-year-old Henry Bosscher of Holland. No other vehicles were involved. The crash remains under investigation.
