[ARCHIVED] No Injuries as a Result of a Fire at 403 Stratford Way

Today at 5:00 am, the Holland Fire Department was dispatched to 403 Stratford Way for a possible electrical fire in the building. Occupants attempted to extinguish the fire which was visible on the deck of the apartment. Upon arrival at 5:09 am, the first arriving unit advised that there was active fire in the exterior wall and eaves. Quick work by firefighters contained the fire and limited damage to a small area of the exterior of the building. The department remained on scene for approximately 2 hours.

There were no injuries to occupants or firefighters. An investigation into the origin and cause of the fire will be conducted by the department‘s Fire Marshal. Residents were able to return to their apartments once the fire was extinguished and the building was determined to be safe.

The department received assistance from the Holland Twp. Fire Department. Other responding agencies included Holland BPW, AMR, HDPS Victim Services Unit (VSU) and the American Red Cross. The HDPS VSU and the ARC were requested to assist residents of a nearby apartment building that were experiencing a plumbing issue with a water leak during the fire.
