[ARCHIVED] Holland Police Investigate Fatal Accident

On August 27, 2019, Holland Department of Public Safety responded to an accident at US-31/Central at 4:20 p.m.  The initial investigation shows a Saturn Aura was traveling SB on Central Avenue through the intersection after the traffic light turned green, and a Chevy pickup traveling NB on US-31 struck the Saturn.  The pickup was driven by a 20 year old male from Goetzville, MI. The driver of the Saturn was 86 year old male and Holland resident, Robert Trees.  Trees was transported to Holland Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  

Holland Police Accident Re-constructionists were called out and are investigating the accident.  Two witnesses were identified at the scene and assisted with information.  Any other witnesses to the accident are asked to contact Sgt.
