1. From October 15th to May 15th, why are residents not allowed to park their cars overnight?

During the Fall and Winter, on-street parking is restricted throughout the City to allow us to perform leaf collection and snow plowing efficiently. The restrictions apply from 2:00 a.m. until 5:00 a.m. on October 15th through May 15th.

Every year, the same dates.  October 15th – May 15th.

3. I am getting work done on my property and I need to park on the street overnight temporarily.

Please contact the Holland Police Department to discuss your situation. Vehicles can be added to the excused list for limited time frames, depending on the situation.

4. Due to the reconstruction project of my street, my driveway is inaccessible. Are there any city lots where I can temporarily park?

Please contact the Transportation Services Department for parking information.

5. We recently got a second car and it does not fit in our driveway. Are there any restrictions placed for overnight parking on that road until October 15?

Residents can park on-street overnight beginning 2:00 a.m. on May 15^th and extend through October 15^th. During this time, overnight on-street parking on City streets is permissible.   Passenger vehicles, motorcycles, and trucks under two (2) tons can be parked overnight on most City streets through October 15^th.  Restrictions for overnight parking will continue in downtown and along streets where parking signs prohibit it:

 

• 6th St. from River Ave. to Columbia Ave.
• 7th St. and 8th St. from Lincoln Ave. to Maple Ave.
• 9th St. from Lincoln Ave. to Pine Ave.
• 10th St. from Pine Ave. to Lincoln Ave.
• Pine Ave. and Lincoln Ave. from 7th St. to 10th St.
• River Ave., Central Ave., College Ave., and Columbia Ave. from 6th St. to 10th St.; and
• Maple Ave. from 7th St. to 8th St.

6. Can I also park my camping trailer on the roadway overnight from May 15 until October 15?

No, only passenger vehicles, motorcycles, and trucks under two (2) tons can be parked on the city streets overnight. Trailers of any type, RV’s or other larger vehicles are not permitted to be parked on the city streets overnight even during this time frame.   

7. I’m a Downtown resident and my guest is coming to visit me.

Residents of Downtown Holland can apply online or in person for a parking permit. Permits can be purchased at the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) Office, 150 West 8th Street. Click here to apply online.
