  1. As a recipient of federal funds, the City of Holland, Michigan, must take reasonable steps to ensure that Limited English Proficiency (LEP) persons have meaningful access to programs, services, and information.

In 1966, the City of Holland created the Human Relations Commission to promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in housing, education, employment and public service.  The HRC advocates for all residents, with special care to under-served communities.  Their vision is for Holland to be a place where all residents are honored and empowered to become productive members of the community, unhindered by bias, misunderstanding, and conflict.
