The department oversees the Human Relations and International Relations Commissions, and City Youth Services.

Human Relations Commission

  • Monitors local, state and federal fair housing practices
  • Reviews and investigate discrimination complaints
  • Monitors City of Holland compliance with State of Michigan Equal Opportunity Employment (EEO) guidelines
  • Monitors City of Holland compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964
  • Receives, investigates, and mediates City Employee EEO grievances
