Operation Polar Patrol Request

Accepting applications for 2026

                                                                    May 11 - September 26

If you would like to request the Polar Patrol Ice Cream Truck to be at your next  Community event, please fill out the form by going to the link below.

Guidelines:

  1. Please request the Polar Patrol Ice Cream at least 14 days prior to your event.
  2. Hours of event must fall between 10:00am-7:00pm
  3. We will do our best to honor your request but please keep in mind this is subject to supplies and officer availability.
  4. You will be notified prior to your event date to confirm.
  5. The Polar Patrol Ice Cream Truck is available to those in Holland City only.   ** Due to popular demands, we had to limit our operation. We are not accepting applications or requests for the Polar Patrol outside of the city limits.  We have been increasing the number of events we attend each year, and although we love the connections we have been able to make, the growing demands make it more difficult to provide the quality programming we strive for.  We apologize if you were planning on us at your event this year whether new to the Polar Patrol or if you have been a continued partner over the years and with this change we are unable to accommodate.
  6. No block parties.
  7. Outdoor events only
  8. Must be open to the general public
  9. One per organization due to volume of requests.
  10. Not available on Sundays or holidays.

***Note: Due to high demand, not all requests will be fulfilled. **

If you have any questions please contact Sgt. John Weatherwax at j.weatherwax@cityofholland.com

The Goal of the program is to foster relationships with citizens while bringing the "service" aspect of policing back to the forefront.  It is a way for us to encourage contacts between the public and the police, when there is not a complaint to investigate, or enforcement needed.  We especially want to draw kids, so we can interact with them in a positive manner.  We want people to meet our officers in a way that they can see who they are and what they are all about when there is no negative situation that initiates the contact.
